Writing coaching for university students with strong ideas and weak structure
Turn a messy draft into a clear, persuasive paper that actually lands.
For students who keep hearing “good ideas, unclear writing.” In one focused session, rebuild the claim, structure, and revision plan so the paper finally says what you mean.
No obligation. We’ll quickly figure out whether one session is enough, what kind of help you need, and whether I’m the right fit.

Who this is for
Good fit
- You have a draft, outline, or argument but it is not landing
- You keep getting “good ideas, unclear writing” feedback
- The issue is structure, argument logic, or paper shape
- You want to do the writing yourself, not outsource it
- You have a real deadline or high-stakes piece
Not the best fit
- You want someone to ghostwrite the paper for you
- You only want surface proofreading or grammar fixes
- You need subject-matter tutoring more than writing coaching
- You want a guarantee without doing the revision work
What changes after one focused session
The ideas are usually already there. The work is making the claim, structure, and paragraph jobs clear enough that the reader can follow them.
Long paper
Before
A long draft that clearly had thought in it, but still read like it was circling the point.
After
One clear thesis, three paragraph jobs, and a rebuttal that made the argument stronger.
Left with
Thesis rewrite + paragraph roadmap
Application essay
Before
A draft that felt genuine but came across as scattered — the real story was buried under extra context.
After
A focused narrative with a clear through-line, sharper stakes, and a voice that felt like the writer.
Left with
Revised structure + argument map
Research notes
Before
Good research that still did not feel like an argument — the notes were there, but the case was not.
After
A working outline that gave each piece of evidence a job and made drafting much less overwhelming.
Left with
Working outline + revision checklist
Choose the level of support that matches the assignment.
Most students need only one focused session.

Not ghostwriting. Not generic editing.
Argument and structure coaching for students who want their own ideas to land. You do the writing. I help you make the claim, structure, and paragraph logic actually work.
Built from experience
A process that actually worked.
Star Learning is built on going from messy, circling writing to consistently structured papers — including a 100% university paper. The same process is what every session is built around.
The process is simple enough to repeat
You are not paying for generic editing. You are learning a process for turning ideas into a paper a reader can actually follow.
1Reader
Get clear on who you are writing for and what they need from the piece.
2Structure
Build a working outline so each part of the paper has a clear job.
3Pressure-Test
Test the claim against the strongest opposing case before you commit to it.
4Draft
Write from the structure instead of trying to think and draft at the same time.
5Refine
Tighten the language, flow, and paragraph logic until the paper reads clearly.
About Evan
Who you are working with.
I coach students through the part of writing that usually breaks papers: finding the real claim, pressure-testing it, and giving each paragraph a job.
This is not ghostwriting and not generic proofreading. It is argument and structure coaching for students who want their own ideas to land.
I’m Evan, a third-year UBC Political Science student. My own writing went from messy and circling to consistently structured — including a 100% paper — and that process is what Star Learning is built on.
Political Science trains you to argue clearly, assess evidence, and write under pressure. That is exactly the problem most students bring to a session.

See a full example of the standard I work towardCommon questions
Clear answers before you book.
Do you write it for me?
No. I do not ghostwrite. I help you build the argument, structure the piece, and improve the writing so you can do stronger work yourself.
How is this different from tutoring, editing, or AI help?
Tutoring covers subject knowledge. Editing fixes surface issues. AI rewrites for you. This is argument and structure coaching: we find the real claim, pressure-test it, and give the paper a shape that works. You still do the writing.
How quickly can I get help if my deadline is close?
Usually within a few days. Mention your deadline on the fit call and we will find the fastest workable path.
Do I need a full draft before booking?
No. A rough draft, an outline, or even a clear assignment prompt is enough to start.
How many sessions do most students actually need?
Most students start with one Argument Reset session and find it enough for a single paper. Writing Sprint is for students who want support across a whole project.
Will this help my grades?
Usually, yes. Clearer thinking and stronger structure are exactly what most grading rubrics reward. The goal is better writing first, but better results usually follow.
What if I do not know what I think yet?
That is common. We use the process to find the real claim, test it, and build from there.
What happens if we decide I’m not the right fit?
The fit call is free specifically so we can find out. If I am not the right kind of help, I will say so and point you toward a better option.
Bring the draft, outline, or assignment that is not landing yet.
On the free fit call, we’ll identify the real writing problem, decide whether one session is enough, and map the fastest next step.
No obligation. Best if you have a deadline, draft, or live writing problem.
